A view of what was part of the Glasgow Central Railway. The North Clyde Electric railway line runs above (notice the overhead line wires in the photograph) which is still in operation today. This part of the G.C.R. took you to Exhibition Centre (looking South not visible in the photograph) and to Kelvinbridge and Botanic Gardens and onwards to Maryhill Central (looking North in the photograph). The Glasgow Science Centre Tower is a visitor attraction for those visiting the science centre and wanting to have an overall view across the city of Glasgow. Many of the sports athletes will be there but there will be one vital thing that will not be here by this time - the Glasgow Airport Rail Link (G.A.R.L.) Project which was a vital project to be built by 2014 for people visitng the city to attend the games.
